What is the Difference Between Our Purity™ Brand and
Our Beverage Quality Frozen Water™?
CITY ICE HAS TWO BRANDS OF ICE:
PURITY™ BRAND AND BEVERAGE QUALITY FROZEN WATER™
Why frozen water? Because we didn’t want to put our product in the same category as the commonly available ICE which has so many variables, it could scare even the most thick-skinned person.

Why Our Purity Ice is Best
Our ice has been tested by a third party lab, and it is our goal to meet or exceed the International Bottled Water Association's (IBWA) chemical analysis as printed on their
Web site March 2003. Unlike your home ice, this product is double filtered, and then only the purest parts of the filtered water are used to produce this ice. The rest of the water is used elsewhere and then discarded. Great tasting, Bottled Water Quality Ice, Untouched by Human Hands is the result of this effort.

Hands Free: No One Touching The Ice
To manufacture Purity Ice, City Ice uses federally approved drinking water that we filter to ½ micron then carbon filter to 5 microns. Finally, only the purest parts of that filtered water is used in our ice making while the balance of that water is discarded at every ice making cycle. City Ice is manufactured and moves from machine to machine until it reaches the package and is sealed, all through automation.

The package itself is manufactured here at our facility. City Ice, before it is packaged, is stored in restricted refrigerated areas; few people are allowed. People cannot and do not come into contact with our product, we clean and sanitize our equipment regularly to be sure our product is not compromised in any way. Besides being inspected by our own staff; we are inspected by: State, Federal, and NSF (National Safety Foundation an Internationally recognized Food Safety firm). As a matter of routine, even though we employ a “no touch system,” a package of City Ice is randomly chosen and tested monthly by an independent laboratory for any bacteriological contaminant to insure sanitation. City Ice also tests on a regular bases with the goal of meeting or exceeding the International Bottled Water Association's (IBWA) standard for Bottled Water (as printed on their web site 2003).

City Ice Company 2007 has been recognized by the International Packaged Ice Association (IPIA) for PIQCS (Packaged Ice Quality Control Standards) PLUS accreditation. This includes HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point – an excepted Food Industry Safety Program developed for NASA many years ago to be proactive toward food safety for the Airspace program to keep our astronauts safe from food borne illnesses) which is the “Highest Accreditation Granted by the IPIA.”

What is the Difference Between Our Purity™ Brand and
Our Beverage Quality Frozen Water™?
Our Beverage Quality Frozen Water is our latest development to bring the public’s attention to the fact that ”ice, like food, must be of the best quality available to secure one’s health.”

It seems to us people consider ice to be something other than frozen water. That is why, in our opinion, people are so nonchalant about where it came from, whether or not it is clean and safe for their consumption. The fact that we chose to call this “beverage quality” indicates it is safe and of excellent quality for human consumption, untouched by human hands.

We decided to call this “Frozen Water” as opposed to ice because this product is NOT like many other ice products on the market. How often does a person casually reach for ice for a glass without first washing your hands?

The ice in our Beverage Quality Frozen Water will always meet our standard of never having been touched by human hands. It will meet the minimum industry standards and will be beverage quality. And distinct from our Purity brand ice, this product may be packaged wet, slightly melted or imperfect, or have many more little pieces of ice in it and it will not have any packaging conveniences such as a zip lock seal.

Our Purity Brand, in time, will only be found in 5 lb. bags which is the perfect size for the home freezer. We use much thicker, stronger film, with a handle, pull strip and a zip lock seal. It will always be double filtered, contain less parts and pieces, dried before we package it so it will be loose in the package when you purchase it and our goal is to meet or exceed bottled water specifications (IBWA website 2003 standards). Purity = Great Tasting Bottled Water Quality Ice Untouched By Human Hands.

Clean, Crisp and Fresh
Our ice goes from one machine into another until it ends up in a package that (in most cases) we manufacture here. At NO time is the ice touched by a person. If there is any question about sanitation, we discard the product.

Cooling
Our ice cools 33 percent faster than traditional packaged ice. Want to know how? Submit a guess.
